Remote Return to School Letter 2021-22

While we recognize that the COVID 19 Pandemic continues to impact our school environment, it is our objective to make the return to school as smooth as possible. As we continue to follow the DOH/PDE/CDC mandates placed on school districts, we make every effort to keep you informed. The Southern Huntingdon County School District will operate on a full in-person schedule beginning August
25th, 2021.

Back to School Nights

Back to School Night is scheduled for the High School/Middle School on August 24, 2021. The Elementary Schools will hold their Back to School Night on August 25, 2021. Both events will take place from 5pm - 7pm.

Workshop Rescheduled!

The July 14, 2021 workshop has been rescheduled for August 11, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the high school/middle school auditorium to discuss the district's building project.

ARP ESSER Health and Safety Plan (updated 7/20/21)

Each LEA must create a Health and Safety Plan that addresses how it will maintain the health and safety of students, educators, and other staff, and which will serve as local guidelines for all instructional and non-instructional school activities

Student Drivers: Parking Applications are Ready!

Student Drivers: Parking applications are ready to be picked up in the main office for the 2021/2022 school year. Please pick one up now and return it to the main office if you plan on driving this upcoming school year.

Health and Safety Plan Vote

There will be a Health and Safety Plan vote on 7/20/21 regarding masking language:

Masking for students, faculty and staff is optional when present in SHCSD facilities. As per CDC mandate, masks are required on buses.

RFP-Legal Services

The SHCSD is seeking proposals for legal services, both General Counsel and Special Counsel.

Act 66 of 2021 - Student Grade Level Retainment

Act 66 permits students that were enrolled during the 2020-21 school year to repeat their grade level in an effort to make up for any lost educational opportunities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, even if the student met the requirements to be promoted to the next grade level.
