Our Superintendent

Mr. Dwayne Northcraft

Welcome to the Southern Huntingdon County School District encompassing approximately 221 square miles in the rural, picturesque region of southern Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.

Home to the Rockets, you will find unparalleled community support for our school system with some of the most outstanding young citizens anywhere. At SHC, all contributions are valued. Rocket pride abounds and student accomplishments are showcased throughout the school buildings.

We are fortunate to call SHC home as rural life comes with wonderful perks, such as the strong sense of community and being in a setting where outdoor recreational activities are prominent and a part of life at school. Our District and community cherish such benefits and share a commonality- unrivaled Rocket pride!

The Southern Huntingdon County School District family is honored to work with a student body abundant with inquisitive learners, skilled athletes, talented musicians, imaginative artists and exceptional citizens who are polite and respectful of their school building and grounds.

Our cohesive staff, community and alumni unite in providing our youth with as many academic and extracurricular opportunities as possible in a clean, safe and welcoming environment. We are grateful for the passion and expertise that our teachers, paraprofessionals, administrative assistants, coaches, bus drivers, food service staff, custodians, PTO and volunteers bring to the table. In turn, it is commonplace at SHC to see students thanking faculty and staff for support, lending a hand to an elder or assisting a peer.

With a unified Vision of customizing education while preparing our young scholars as critical thinkers and leaders in a global society, the SHCSD faculty, staff, administration and Board of Directors thank you for sharing your children with us.
