Mr. Randy Watkins
Well, hello there! My name is Randy Watkins, and I am currently a fifth grade teacher at Spring Farms Elementary. I grew up just a short stone-throw from here in Coles Valley. I am a 1982 graduate of Tussey Mtn. and a 1999 graduate of Juniata College. I hold a B.S. in El. Ed. and certifications in H.S. History and M.S. English. I am married to Angela "Edgin" Watkins of Mount Union, also known as "Ethel", We have two awesome sons, Tyler and Nick, and we live on a small working farm near Waterfall. We raise club calves and reg. angus cattle as an expensive hobby. Charlie, my wife's mini-donkey, keeps all of the calves safe when they are in the pasture.
Before my arrival here, I taught at Southside Elem, which is within the Huntingdon Area School District. In 2005, I was hired as a fifth grade teacher at Rockhill Elem. That group of fifth graders earned their stripes as we began our year on the stage due to a limitation of classroom space. After spending the first couple of "hot" months on the stage, we were moved into the new modular unit. Several years later, I relocated to the H.S. to teach U.S. and World History to 9th-12th grade students. After 5 years of being with the "big" kids, I was relocated back to the elementary. Spring Farms has some of the best kids in the county, if I do say so myself.
